A 90ish km charity ride? Hmm it'll just be an easy day rolling around then eh? Not quite. The Johnny Warren Jamberoo Classic is certainly that, a classic road charity ride from the city (Loftus in Sydney) to valley of Jamberoo on the South Coast.
Whilst it's certainly not marketed as the anti Gong ride it certainly feels a bit like it, or at least the Gong ride with the clock wound back a few years before the herds of riders came along and flooded the roads.
It's a tight knit affair at the Johnny Warren with about 500 riders all rolling out of Loftus this morning all heading into the Royal National Park over the Sea Cliff bridge then hugging the coast South to Jamberoo.

Sweet, cruisy, chatty riding at it's easiest, that is unless you treat the Royal National Park as your own personal uphill rollercoaster and the Wollongong to Jamberoo stretch as a let's see who's going to spew first before lunch fest.
Each to their own though and I've now done the Johnny 4 times and whenever it falls next year I'm already in such is the attractive combination of fantastic roads, sweet vibes and raising money for a the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse at RPA to boot.

If you're a Sydneysider get on board and bring plenty of mates, you'll need them to have a laugh and see just who's going to crack first....
