The final round of the Victorian State XC series wrapped up on the weekend, with the last race being at a crowd favourite the You Yangs.
April sunshine bought out a strong field in all categories, and tough racing conditions. The course was spectacular, it contained tough soundtrack, technical uphills and a fast and flowing downhill that was a joy to ride.
With only 3 weeks of riding in my legs since my honeymoon, I had no real expectations for a good race. Lining up with teammate Ben on a technical course is never fun, I know that when the going gets technical with him, I get left behind wondering if he is indeed still riding a mountain bike.
