So it seems that I'm still talking myself into that fact that trying to ride 330km in one day is a good idea.
This Sunday 22nd January in order to commiserate reaching the ripe old age of 33 I'm grabbing hold of my remaining youthful stupidity and am going to saddle up for a 330km ride.
Today's prep involved polishing up the bike and convincing myself that a day of sitting at a desk is just another way to multi task and taper so everything's on track really!

I can't go all roadie and am still clinging to the mtb pedals. I'm sure this is breaking some roadie rules out there but hey at least they are light...

Scott Addict R1. Damn light and damn fun to ride.

SRAM Force handles the Groupset duties.

AY UP's at the ready for the planned 3:30am start. Note the temporary elastic band clips holding the light bracket in place. Quick and easy installation and removal in lieu of the standard zip ties.

Bryton Rider 30 GPS ready to remind me how far I've got to go.

New rubber installed today. Bonus that they can handle 140PSI. That's got to be worth a few extra km's per hour!.

SRAM Force 50-34 chainrings are a great option. I've pretty much sat in the 50 all ride, every ride and used the 34 as the super skinny leg bail out option. I might be using it a bit towards the end of the day though.

I've put together a planned route being a 114 out and back ride along some of my favourite roads. Although one big loop would be better having the option to refuel at home after 114km and 228km will hopefully be a bonus. I'll just have to make sure I'm not made too comfortable and get kicked back out onto the roads.
Tomorrow, the super taper continues and if I'm lucky I might even get a ride in as well!.
