thra0064-1 Welcome to the newest MTB Marathon for Australia, Escape from Cobra Mountain. Based out of Pub Hill Farm at Narooma, the race offers 3 different courses of 60km, 120km & 100 miles.

Escape from Cobra Mountain discovers all new MTB terrain, takes you deep into rainforest gullies, and high over old logging trails where bullocks once transported mine supplies between Wagonga Inlet and the Tuross River, all in the shadows on the famous Mt. Dromedary.

As much about the journey as about the race, Escape from Cobra Mountain is exhilarating yet gruelling, tranquil yet breathtaking, with amazingly grand yet undiscovered riding trails.

Feature - SRAM Singletrack Mind Series

With 4 rounds of the 5 event series completed, the 'SRAM Singletrack Mind Series – Protected by Brave Soldier' has been quickly hailed as the premier enduro MTB series in NSW. The racing has been close and exciting with names such as Rockstar's Craig Gordon, Yeti's Paul Rowney and Giant's Josh Carlson in regular attendance, but even with the high profile riders the events have been notable for the relaxed vibe and good will on track - riders of all standards having a great time!

The season finale - Round 5 on the famed trails of Appin is coming up soon on September 25 and will be a very special event for a number of reasons!

Endurance legend and current Australian and World Solo 24 Hour Champion Jason English yesterday placed 7th in the shorter Olympic distance cross country event at the SRAM Australian MTB Championships.

Held at Eagle Park in South Australia Daniel McConnell who rode for Australia in the Beijing Olypmics, took out the win with Lachlan Norris second and Joshua Carlson third. A standout result was surely Paul Van Der Ploeg who riding in the Under 23 Category actually finished third overall in the race.

In the Women's race it was Rowena Fry from Heather Logie with Jenni King in third. Forrest's Jessica Douglas, the current Women's Australian 24 Hour champion, placed 8th. Both McConnell and Fry have now earnt the right to wear the Australian Jersey as the 2010 Australian Champions for cross country.
