Hi Riders,
Well it’s been a rainy couple of weeks around Sydney and as always there’s a lot happening in Australian endurance mountain bike racing. Remember just a couple of years ago when you’d be searching high and low to find a race each month? Not any more! With new events springing up and the old faithfuls still keeping on there’s no real off season anymore and you can keep racing or riding all year round.
On the upcoming racing scene for Enduro Pulse and we’ll be getting around to the Melrose Fat Tyre Festival next weekend, Round 5 of the Victorian 6 Hour Enduro Series in Albury on the 26th June and Rocky Trail Entertainments 4/8 Hour Grand Prix on 3rd July. Happy trails and keep an eye on www.enduropulse.com.au for all the news.
Here’s what you’ll find in third edition of The Loop and as always to keep your finger on the enduro pulse check out www.enduropulse.com.au

1. Feature Event – North vs South Race Series
For 2010, Wannaride has hooked up with BHP Billiton and JP Morgan plus loads of bike industry wholesalers to bring you the North vs South Race Series. The first event of the series will be the BHP Appin 400 on Sunday, August 15th to be held at the naturally beautiful Appin XC race track. The second and final race of the series will be the ever popular 4th Annual JP Morgan Spring Fat Tyre Festival at Awaba Mountain Bike Park up on the central coast on Sunday, November 28th.
Well it's time to prove who's got the gusto! The North vs South Series is your chance to prove who's got the best track and the best riders (all in fun of course). Let's settle this once and for all...two races - one in the cold (burrrrr) and one in the heat (well hopefully not too hot), two tracks - one north of Sydney and one south, two styles of trails - one technical and one flowing.
Who's gonna come out on top? The first event of the series will be the BHP Appin 400 on Sunday, August 15th to be held at the naturally beautiful Appin XC race track. The second and final race of the series will be the ever popular 4th Annual JP Morgan Spring Fat Tyre Festival at Awaba Mountain Bike Park up on the central coast on Sunday, November 28th. 2. Destination Review – Wagga Wagga, New South Wales
With the lure of miles of singletrack and five different riding locations I was in and ready to explore the trails at Wagga Wagga. The largest inland city of NSW, Wagga Wagga is located 2.5 hours from Canberra, 4.5 hours from Sydney and 1.5 hours from Albury so it’s best to make your break for at least a long weekend away to get a full day on the trails.
From the punchy singletrack climbs and gully assaults at "Pomy" to the 30km long fast Wiradjuri Walking Track trail along the banks of the Murrumbidgee River Wagga Wagga has your riding covered. MORE INFORMATION...

4. Feature Event – Jet Black WSMTB 12 Hour - Yellomundee Regional Park - Saturday, 7 August 2010
The popular 12Hour enduro is back at Yellomundee! Race at the fastest and most exciting MTB race track in Sydney at Yellomundee Regional Park! As the traditional 12 Hour race of the Western Sydney MTB Club, this event has been a staple on the NSW endurance race calendar for years and promises to be bigger and better this August. Forget winter hibernation with Rocky Trail Entertainment promising the ultimate race event experience.

The festival atmosphere will not only thrill the racers but spectators alike. Due to strict venue regulations, rider numbers had to be limited, but entries are still open and available and to complete the racing weekend, Rocky Trail is also putting on the Round 2 of their MTB Grand Prix Series on the Sunday (8 August) with a 4Hour quick-enduro. More details here...
Well as I type the sun has finally come out so it’s time to hit the trails. Keep your finger on the enduro pulse and Ride It Long Time.
Cheers,
Craig Baylis
