Rocky Trail challenge racers to longest Stromlo-loop ever at MTB Cruise 100.
For their MTB Cruise 100 endurance race on 25 February 2012, the Rocky Trail crew have mapped out the longest loop possible at Stromlo Forest Park in Canberra to include, as they say, “everything a mountain biker’s heart could wish for”.
Imagine racing every possible track combination at Stromlo – this is a race that gets you to ride the whole goodness of the Stromlo tracks!

Says Martin from Rocky Trail, “We love riding at Stromlo ourselves, so we tried to link as many trails as possible for a 33 km loop.”
First, you will climb up to the top via Bluegum and then it’s the sweeping descents of Skyline and Luge that will keep your heart rate up, followed by tight switchback climbs, fast downhills, some sections to recover at Willow’s Link and look out for that Party Line!
The distance challenges start at cruisy 1 or 2 laps and dare racers to do 3 laps for the full 100km distance. For the 100 miler challenge, racers will kick off their 5 laps at 5am with a rewarding dawn loop, finishing with the crowds in the afternoon.

There will be mass starts for the individual categories throughout the morning of race day and after each lap the times will be recorded at the event centre, which will be pumping with music in the signature Rocky Trail race atmosphere.
This race promises to satisfy hardcore endurance racers as well as any mountain biker who loves a good, long ride.
